Elocon Ointment is used for the treatment of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. Mometasone Furoate 0.1% is the active ingredient in Elocon Ointment. Elocon Scalp Lotion is prescribed for similar conditions as Betnovate Scalp and Betcap solution - eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis of the scalp.

If you experience blurred vision or any other visual disturbances while using this medicine, you should contact your doctor immediately. If you do suffer from any visual problems, you must not drive, cycle or operate machinery until the problem has subsided. Do not use large amounts of the lotion on the body for a long time, such as every day for several weeks. Do not use this lotion on your child's scalp for longer than five days.
When using Elocon Scalp Lotion for an extended period of time (e.g. several weeks or months), the product should not be stopped abruptly once the scalp problem is better. A doctor should be consulted to taper the use of the lotion gradually before stopping altogether. Abrupt cessation of use after long-term use can cause flare-ups with stinging and burning of the scalp.
